Thanks to a generous sponsorship by Ed Roy, President of Walker Crane & Rigging, students at Frank T. Wheeler Elementary School recently enjoyed an in house “field trip.” The Children’s Museum’s Animal Adaptations & Habitats traveling classroom program visited Wheeler students in kindergarten through second grade on May 3rd featuring several live animals. During the program, they discussed the differences between mammals, reptiles, amphibians, and insects, diet in their natural habitat, camouflage, survival adaptations and more. The students were able to visit with the animals as they learned about their environment. The students earned the opportunity to participate in the event through Wheeler’s PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) program for exhibiting positive behavior and kindness throughout the school day and school year.
